Yoga is offered at Tigg’s Pond on Wednesdays from 9:00 – 10:15 am
My early interests in Art, discount Nature and Outdoors guided my studies in college. I received a BS in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning from Rutgers University at Cook College in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was guided to the Mountains of Western North Carolina after a backpacking trip cross the Country to see where would be a nice place to plant my roots for awhile (awhile has turned into a life time and finding HOME)
My love and appreciation for the beauty of Western North Carolina and the Mountains has led me to wonderful clients and friends who have felt my passion for good stewardship of the land, nature and creative design – to “work with the land” not against her. This led to amazing projects over the years, the latest and most important to my soul being Tiggs Pond Retreat Center. A 54 acre Sanctuary set aside for quiet prayer, contemplation, spiritual renewal and physical refreshment.
The Retreat Center has become my home base for sharing and growing my yoga world.
My passion for the outdoors and nature continues to grow and has guided me to become a stand up paddle board yoga (SUPyoga) certified teacher and instructor along with continuing with education and training in other areas of yoga and related fields.
The Philosophy of Yoga is very much like the laws of nature… Your awareness of your surroundings and listening to your own instinct help promote your safety and wellbeing. You can view the forest/land/water from the distance and barley scratch the surface at what is waiting to be discovered. Or you can dive in deep into the forest/land/water exploring all the nooks and crannies, where amazing discoveries wait for you to shine your light on them.
And in the end, when you emerge from the depth of this journey you are forever changed.
I encourage you to Dive/Explore/Journey !
